A scientist at Yale university used a dead pig brain he was able to measure congnative activity in it. He a machine known as a BIS. BIS results go from zero to 100: Zero is no electrical activity — a chunk of wood would score a zero — while 90 to 100 is consistent with a living human. When the pig brain was scanned it was at 10. This means the pig brain showed a very low level of electric activity. This give an option that dead animal could be in a grey space where they could not be fully dead or fully alive rather mostly dead but still slightly alive.
