Scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have found a way to make brain tissue more rigid and hard to break. There new technology is known as ELAST technology (Entangled Link-Augmented Stretchable Tissue-hydrogel). ELAST is a chemical that makes tissues thin, stretchy, compressible and for the most part indestructible. ELAST technology will be used to stretch samples out further and it will make labeling samples easier. This will allow neuroscientists to test and work with samples quicker. This will enable faster studies and discoveries. The scientists who made the ELAST says that ELAST could help in creating the most detailed map of the brain ever. This technology has great potential.
