The International Brain Initiative

The brain is the most complex organ in the human body. For many years individual countries and organizations have worked on neuroscience research. However, major scale worldwide collaboration on neuroscience has not happened. The International Brain Initiative (IBI) is a global operation to increase global collaboration about neuroscience.  One of the major goals of the IBI is to transcend country boundaries. Currently 8 countries have gotten involved in the IBI including Australian Brain Initiative, the EU Brain Project, Japan Brain/Mind, Canadian Brain Research Strategy, Korea Brain Initiative, China Brain Initiative as well as the United States BRAIN Initiative (BRAINI).  Such collaboration could better brain research and help us unravel the mysteries of the brain.  The goal of the IBI is to run large scale neuroscience projects in an effort to better our understanding of our brain. ​
