Exercise is helpful to many organs in the body including brain. But how does exercise help the brain? Many people believe that neurons are incapable of forming after a person reaches adulthood. However, researchers in the 1990’s proved this idea wrong. They used mice to conduct and experiment. Adult mice that spent time running on a wheel showed that they had formed and grew new neurons that were not previously present. In addition to creating newer neurons aerobic exercises can increase the size of the prefrontal cortex. This can sharpen cogitative functions. Source Business Insider
